When one thinks of Attersee, Austria’s most famous artist, Gustav Klimt, immediately comes to mind. Between 1900 and 1916 the painter often spent his summers in Attersee. He finished over 50 landscape paintings, most of which were painted in Attersee. Today a theme trail takes you in search of the this art-nouveau painter’s favourite spots.
Attersee – Boat Trips
Take a boat trip across the entire Attersee lake in either the local ferry or one of the two smaller local boats. In summer you could go on one of many weekly theme rides: pirate ship rides, disco boat rides or a soothing live-music trips.
