Depending on the time of day or year it sparkles and shines in a multitude of blues and greens, overshadowed by dull clouds it turns a silvery grey, or lucent turquoise in the clear sunlight. Sometimes the surface is like a mirror and then again thousands of tiny waves curl around in the wind.
Just a three minute walk separates the Hotel Mohrenwirt from a jewel of the Salzkammergut, Lake Fuschl. Crystal clear water of drinking water quality (!), a quick swim is the perfect way to cool off on hot summer days, with water temperatures of up to 24°C.

The Mohren-Beach: exclusively for hotel guests
The hotel’s own private beach offers our guests everything their heart desires: sunbathing under shady trees, changing cubicles, umbrellas and sun-loungers. A sandpit and swing for the wee ones. And the jetty leads you right out into the blue….
Enjoy the unspoilt tranquillity of our private beach. If you do want a bit more action, then the local public beach “Fuschlseebad” is the right place for you: beach volleyball, tennis, mini-golf, boat hire, a large play area and various events create a real “beach feeling”!
The preservation of the lake is of up-most importance to us! Motorboats are an absolute taboo, only rowing and electric boats or pedalos are allowed on the lake. Lake Fuschl provides the ideal habitat for thirteen different fish species and a visit to the Castle Fishery with its tasty smoked-fish specialities is something quite special! If you want to angle in the lake, a licence is required and here we are happy to advise and assist you!
