With its fascinating landscape of lakes and mountains, the SalzburgerLand and Salzkammergut offer cyclists everything they could wish for. In the heart of the region, on the shores of Lake Fuschl, lies our Roadbike Hotel Mohrenwirt..

Over 76 lakes and the famous Salzkammergut Mountains (Dachstein, Totes Gebirge, Osterhorn Group, Traunstein and Höllengebirge) provide breathtaking panoramic views, while riders looking to clock up plenty of miles and vertical metres can combine steep climbs and rides around the lakes to create their own customised tour.

Insider tips for your roadbike training camp in the Salzkammergut

Chef vom Hotel MohrenwirtWhen it comes to organising a training camp, there is nothing more important than planning the routes – after all, the last thing you want to do is waste time checking which way to go. Cyclists want to train, ride and enjoy being out on the road. We will make sure that nothing gets in the way of that during your stay with us.
The hotel manager Jakob Schmidlechner knows the finest rides, the most beautiful views, the most remote spots, the quietest roads and the best places to stop for a drink and a snack.

Guide Emanuel, whose job includes making sure that your equipment is in top condition, also knows the region like the back of his hand. Both will be pleased to share their years of experience to help you choose a ride, or to accompany you themselves on a tour of the region. Guests can also hire GPS devices free of charge from the hotel.

Ride on the trail of the pros

Radmarathon Eddy Merckx ClassicEddy Merckx, Gerrit Glomser and Marcel Wüst are frequent visitors to the SalzburgerLand and Salzkammergut. Indeed, one of Austria’s most popular roadbike marathons is named after Merckx, and the Belgian legend is on the start line every year. The route is very close to our hotel.

There are few cyclists who know the secluded rides along quiet roads like local hero Gerrit Glomser, who will be pleased to share his local knowledge with guests by leading groups of riders.
Former race pro and cycling expert Marcel Wüst stayed at our hotel a number of times in 2012 and prepared the riders taking part in the procycling week and the road bike days for their upcoming competitions and bike marathons.
