Description

A nice 45 km tour for the afternoon

  • from Fuschl am See onto B158 to St.Gilgen
  • turn left at the roundabout on B154 towards Mondsee
  • when you arrive at Lake Mondsee, turn right towards Attersee
  • go through the Kienberg tunnel (extra tunnel for bikers)
  • at the end of lake Mondsee turn right onto B151
  • ride along lake Mondsee to Mondsee City
  • at the junction turn left for a few hundred meters onto B154
  • turn right onto Thalgaustraße at the roundabout
  • a short steep ascent follows
  • follow Thalgaustraße to Thalgau
  • in the city center of Thalgau turn left onto Thalgauegg Landesstraße
  • ascent to the Thalgauegg
  • on the highest point follow the street to your left, towards Fuschl am See
  • go downhill after a few kilometres into the woods followed by the last ascent

at the end of the ascent you have an unforgettable view of Fuschl am See

Mondsee: Family Tour St. Lorenz

This is a gentle cycling tour with a view of the mystical Mondsee lake. The tour takes you from the town of Mondsee along the base of the Drachenwand mountain ridge, past the baroque church in St. Lorenz and on to the “Teufelmühle” Mill.
Via “Ölgruben, Leidingerhof, Erlachmühle, Helenental or to the cycling guesthouse “Zur grünen Eiche” (The Green Oak) the route returns you to Mondsee.

Irrsee Cycle Tour

Easy, family-friendly tour, most of the time off of the main roads with fantastic views of the long Irrsee lake.
The tour starts in the centre of the village of Zell am Moos, then it takes you along the west-bank of the lake. Here you will find several restaurants and guesthouses for a break and refreshments.
Once you reach the north end of the lake you then ride across a wild moor. After a short stretch on the main road, you pick up the cycle track again which takes you back to Zell am Moos.

Description

  • from Fuschl am See onto B158 east to St. Gilgen and then to Bad Ischl  
  • through Bad Ischl city (do not take tunnel – that’s a clearway) and follow the main road to the Traun river 
  • turn left onto Pfarrgasse (partly pedestrian zone), pass pastry shop Zauner and the train station and leave the city direction north east to Ebensee 
  • always follow the B145 (Salzkammergut Bundesstraße) to Lake Traunsee and ride along the western shore of the lake 
  • there is no street on the eastern shore! 
  • at Altmünster turn left towards Hochlecken and Steinbach am Attersee  
  • that’s an ascent of 14 km followed by a fast descent to Steinbach am Attersee  
  • at the bottom of the hill turn left onto B152 direction Unterach am Attersee 
  • turn left where B152 meets B151 towards Mondsee 
  • shortly before Mondsee go left towards St.Gilgen, always along the lake, then through the Kienbergwand tunnel (own tunnel for bikers) onto the B154 (turn right) and ride along the lake 
  • at Plomberg turn left towards St. Lorenz  
  • from here you can take side roads with little traffic towards Thalgau 
  • through Thalgau (direction Autobahn) and when you see an old factory on the right hand side, turn left onto Oberdorfer Straße  
  • again on side roads with little traffic 
  • follow the street (on the left is a sign for a riding stable)  
  • follow the ascent with 3 steep sections, pass the „Rauchhaus“ and go over the Thalgauegg back to Fuschl am See  
  • the last kilometres are partly steep, but at the end you get rewarded with the most beautiful view of lake Fuschl

Fuschl-Bad Ischl-Weissenbachtal-Attersee-Mondsee-Thalgau-Hof

  • on B158 to St. Gilgen and then to Bad Ischl
  • through Bad Ischl city, because the main road goes through a tunnel which is not perfect by bike
  • follow the street towards Gmunden
  • turn left towards Attersee after a few kilometers to the Weissenbachtal
  • a long but not very steep ascent follows (8 %)
  • the Weissenbachtal leads you directly to Weissenbach am Attersee
  • turn right towards Unterach in Weissenbach
  • follow the road along lake Attersee to Unterach and then to Mondsee
  • go to Mondsee city along lake lake Mondsee
  • that’s a nice route, almost all the time directly along the lake, slight hilly
  • take the Thalgaustraße from Mondsee (later Mondsee- and Salzburgstraße) to Thalgau
  • through Thalgau and then left onto Russenstraße
  • the Russenstraße is a long ascent
  • Es folgt ein lästiger Anstieg nach Hof bei Salzburg, am Kreisverkehr links und dann immer auf der B158 bleiben bis man wieder in Fuschl am See gelandet ist

  • on B158 towards Salzburg
  • go through Hof and turn left onto the road up the Gaisberg mountain shortly before Salzburg
  • on the way up to the top there is an ascent of 8,8 km (14% steep)
  • the last 2,5km are really steep!
  • you get rewarded with a beautiful view Salzburg when you are on top
  • to go back you can either take the same route or turn right on half of the way towards Oberwinkl and Ebenau
  • that’s a really narrow and fast descent until you reach the Landesstrasse at the Vorderfager
  • turn left and follow the street to Wiestal
  • turn left onto Wiestalstraße and go straight until 'Werkschulheim Felbertal'
  • back to Fuschl am See through Hof

  • turn right onto B154 at the roundabout in Mondsee and follow the B154 to St. Gilgen
  • there is a small ascent between Scharfling and St. Gilgen
  • turn right at the roundabout in St. Gilgen onto B158 and follow this street to Fuschl am See

Fuschl-Perfalleck-Strubklamm-Mitteregg-Schwaighofen-Thalgau

  • fast descent towards Salzburg, then turn right onto B158 towards Fuschl am See
  • turn left towards Eugendorf (over Schwaighofen), where you find the starting point and end of the Eddy Merckx Classic (race)
  • from Eugendorf follow the street to Thalgau and Fuschl am See

  • first on B158 towards Salzburg, through Hof, pass the Salzburgring until you reach a huge new company building
  • directly behind it turn right towards Eugendorf and cross the Schwaighofen hill, which has a long ascent (13% steep)
  • a fast descent towards Eugendorf follows
  • turn left at the next big junction and follow the street to Seekirchen
  • behind Seekirchen turn right onto the street towards Köstendorf and Neumarkt am Wallersee
  • you circle lake Wallersee on the western shore
  • follow this street to Neumarkt and then turn left towards Straßwalchen
  • in Straßwalchen you make a right on B154 to Oberhofen and Zell am Moos, passing lake Irrsee and then reaching Mondsee
  • go through Mondsee city and follow the B154 to St.Gilgen
  • there is a small hill „Scharfling“ inbetween (2,5km ascent, 10% steep)
  • in St.Gilgen turn right at the roundabout towards Fuschl am See
  • the last ascent „Steinbruch“ brings you to Fuschl am See (4km, 12% steep)

Fuschl-Wiestal-Strubklamm-Tiefbrunnau

Description

36 km to relieve your legs

From Fuschl am See onto B158 towards Salzburg, through Hof, until the junction towards Ebenau / Hallein / Wiestal. To Hof the route is slightly uphill, between Hof and Ebenau the route is slightly downhill. Shortly before the Wiestal barrier lake (about 100m after Gasthof Obermayr) turn left up to “Werkschulheim Felbertal” and the Strubklamm. The ascent up to the Werkschulheim is about 1,5 km long.

  • follow the street to Hintersee, pass it left and turn left onto the street towards Faistenau
  • light ascent to the junction (right) towards Tiefbrunnau
  • follow the Tiefbrunnaustraße until you can turn right towards Fuschl am See
  • short but intense ascent (14%) to the Perfalleck
  • descent with 2 serpentines and a few curves
  • turn right on B158
  • turn left after 300m to Fuschl am See
