In the summer it is often hot, but seldom oppressively so. A cool breeze from the lake or the mountains has a refreshing and cooling effect. And then – dive into one of the lakes, into waters of drinking quality. You can also cool down in the soothing shade of the now dense deciduous forest and enjoy a few warm, evening hours outdoors.
Autumn is the festival season: The landscape is decorated in the most beautiful, natural colours and the locals give their thanks for the rich harvest at numerous festivals and celebrations. The light becomes softer, it’s the ideal time of year to explore the mountains in the Salzkammergut Lake District.
The winter offers snow-covered pleasure, with wonderful off-piste skiing, fabulous slopes in the mountains and a gentle horse-drawn sleigh ride in the valley. The days are shorter and the evening is spent telling stories in front of a flickering open fire.
